Meme Union Local 69-420 is a collective of content creators who are dedicated to advocating for protections and processes for other creators on Instagram. Our mission is to create transparency, accountability, and processes for grievances for people who create using Instagram by centering equity and justice in our work. Our membership is voluntary and fluid but represents a diverse group of people who are willing to step up on behalf of others who have been subject to arbirtrary or draconian processes of selective censorship, slowed traffic and other retaliatory actions on the part of Instagram.
The IG Meme Union is a voluntary organization of IG content creators and supporters. The Union is comprised of an Organizing Committee (OC) and a General Membership.
The following subcommittees exist as a part of the organizational structure:
The Organizing Committee is comprised of people who are interested in taking part in decision-making on behalf of the union, and will do so to the best of their ability and capacity. They will help the union have the best interests of its membership in mind and will not use the platform for personal promotion or harm to the union or its members.
The OC will make tactical and organizing decisions, but ultimately will ask the membership for deciding votes on anything related to changes in mission, or in decisions to take actions that are deemed to be organizationally significant. In the event that a vote is either in the OC or the GM the other body will need to decide with at least 2/3rds majority.

Each other sub-committee will be a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 15 people. Organizing committee members can serve on up to two other committees maximum.
